What Caught My Eye Today
Iraq - Trent Lott commenting on the Republican Party's reluctance to back a single proposed resolution on the Iraq war, "To herd the cats some times you have to let them stray. Think about that. Keeping them together by letting them stray." Okay, I'm thinking about it...Dude, what are you talking about?
North Korea - North Korea says it will be compelled to conduct a second nuclear missle test if the latest 6 nation talks to resolve an alleged money laundering scheme don't show signs of progress. I'm sure that will help matters. Maybe we should apply this strategy in the workplace when negotiating for pay hikes. I can see it now..."Hey, boss. Either you give me a raise, or I will be compelled to pull out my sawed-off shotgun for another round of target practice in the lunchroom."
Google - Closes over $500. Thank goodness, I listened to my gut and took a pass on buying when Google hit $300. No telling what I would have done with all those capital gains.
Media Day at the Super Bowl - Yesterday, Mike Wilbon reported on ESPN's 'Pardon The Interruption' the most intriguing thing about the event was all the players trying to get a picture with the sports reporter from Television Azteca, Inez Sainz Gallo. When asked if she covered alot of sporting events, she said, "Oh yes, very much." When asked what teams played in last year's Super Bowl, she replied, "No, I don't think so. So why the interest in such a well-versed sports reporter...I'll let you draw your own conclusions (click here).
